How to Clean Draft Beer Lines After Pouring Glitter Beer

YOUR GLITTER BEER WAS A HIT - BUT HOW DO YOU CLEAN YOUR LINES?

Ok, so you poured glitter beer for the first time using Brew Glitter at your brewery and it was a massive hit! But now you need to know how to clean the lines, right? You want to know what the recommended way to clean keg draft lines after pouring a beer dosed with Brew Glitter®? Is there some preferred method/chemical that dissolves or easily cleans the glitter?

DON' WORRY - WE HAVE HUNDREDS OF BREWERY CUSTOMERS

We have hundreds of breweries that use Brew Glitter® during the brewing process to make glitter beer so we’ve learned from their experience when it comes to cleaning your equipment. We strongly recommend that you use the same process after a batch of glitter beer that you would normally use for all other beers when cleaning your draft lines and kegs.

If you’re still unsure of best practices, then just follow these 3 easy steps to clean your beer lines:

  1. Use 1% caustic solution at 140°F and push for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Run a 5 min or 5 gallons of rinse water through the lines to make sure all caustic solution has been flushed through the lines.
  3. Finally, use a no-rinse sanitizer for 5 minutes and/or run 5 gallons through the line before hooking it back up.

Brewery Tip - We also recommend that our customers break down their Snake Taps and Faucets once a month and perform regular line cleaning to ensure a zero percent chance of cross contamination.
