Brew Glitter Oktoberfest Drink Guide
For almost 210 years, Oktoberfest has taken the world by storm. As the #1 manufacturer for edible glitter in the world, Brew Glitter wants you to continue this celebration and show you how to style traditional Oktoberfest beer with our brew glitter. Almost every year over 6 million people gather in the largest beer celebration in the world. What started out as a celebration for the Prince of Bavaria has now become a global celebration that takes place all around the world.
However, nothing is better than a traditional Oktoberfest beer, brewed right in the heart of Munich, Germany.
At Oktoberfest, most of the beer is brewed and produced by the "Big Six" breweries.
1. Augustiner
One of Munich's oldest breweries, they provide a flavor of light malts, light grasses, caramel, and a well-rounded hoppy profile.
2. Hacker-Pschor
Created in 1972, they make drinks that highlight each aspect of the flavor profiles: sweet, bitter, dry, malty and hoppy.
3. Lowenbrau
This "Lions Brew" is the same beer it was in the 14th century, nearly 700 years ago. Crisp and light bodied, with a slight spicy aftertaste that fades into a refreshing drink.
4. Paulaner
The largest brewery in Bavaria was the first to introduce steam power to production. With a mixture of light, toasted malt and a lemon finish, this drink is ideal for snacking.
5. Spaten
Created by the most famous family in Munich, the flavor has remained unchanged since 1872. A mild biscuit like malt with a lemon finish, this beer will leave you wanting more.
6. Hofbrauhaus
With royal origins, the beer selection never loses its fresh taste. Crisp and flavored with hay, dough, noble hops, and grain- enjoy the royal taste!
To enhance your celebration of Oktoberfest, here is a list of the beer types to look for.
Helles
The most common beer found at Oktoberfest. 'Light beer' is a pale-light yellow, with a light, but pleasant taste, and have ABV's in the highs and lows.
Dunkel
Rich with malt and bittered with hops- 'dark beer' can be described as both a light and dark brown. The ABV's, while they tend to remain low, can be high.
Radler
A mixture of helles and fizzy lemon soda. One of the most refreshing drinks at Oktoberfest, it can be made with any fruit soda or ginger ale.
Alcohol-free
Comes in many flavor-profiles and colors. Whether it is a light or dark lager, hop-fueled hazy, or a simple light beer, these non-alcoholic choices are great for the festival.
Hefeweizen
Only available at certain tents- while the 'hazy' or wheat beer is very popular all over the world, it is limited. The refreshing beverage is worth the hunt- if you are up to it!
How will you dress up your beers? To celebrate in style, take a look at how the shimmers work in various Oktoberfest beers.
You will see all shots below have 1/8 tsp, which is roughly 3 shakes or 4 pumps from the various applicators.
In the first image, we have a Paulaner Muncher Lager. Taking the Red Brew Glitter, we put 1/8 teaspoon at the bottom of the pint, then added the Helles (light) beer. It was transformed into the golden red drink pictured. With the same Helles beer, we added 1/8 teaspoon of the Red Brew Glitter, creating the beautiful warm red hue.
The next beer is a specialty Erdinger Dunkel- a dark beer. Adding 1/8 teaspoon of the Clear Shimmer Brew Glitter transformed the Helles beer into a glittering deep brown drink with bronze highlights.
We hope this gives you an idea on how you will dress up your beer so you can celebrate in style! From all of Bakell, we wish you a happy Oktoberfest. Enjoy 25% off BULK Brew Glitter From September 1st to October 4th!
